Vigneron Paul Fiiliatreau planted 10 acres of chenin blanc on his Chateau Fouquet property in the Loire Valley appellation of Saumur. The vines on limestone-rich soil are farmed certified-biodynamically and then fermented with indigenous yeast, half in stainless steel, half in used French oak. His efforts shine in this full-bodied, yet lively, bottling of 100% chenin blanc carrying notes of stonefruit and pear. A beautiful Spring wine you can happily pair with pan-roasted chicken thighs over wild rice. (Gary)
