Joostenberg Estate, a fifth-generation family vineyard located in the Muldersvlei area of South Africa's
prolific Paarl district, encompasses an organic farm with fresh vegetables, seasonally cultivated flowers,
free range cattle, a bistro, picnic area, and the star attraction, a boutique winery. The farm was settled by
a Swede in the 1600's and declared a national monument for its early Cape Dutch manor house. Full
organic status was achieved in 2012.
Their Chenin Blanc is an ideal table wine for friends and family gatherings. The grapes are picked by
hand and naturally fermented in steel tanks, giving them excellent acidity and notes of green apples,
honeydew melon, and angelica. (Jenny)
