David and Nadia, husband and wife, are two young, gifted winemakers who founded their own label about a dozen years ago. Located in the Swartland district north of Cape Town, they use grapes from their own organic vineyards as well as sourced fruit from other organic growers. In fact, this white blend includes the harvest from 21 different sites! The wine is about half chenin blanc (the signature white varietal of South Africa) along with semillon and six other varietals such as roussanne, marsanne and viognier. Aged in large, neutral oak casks, the resulting wine is akin to a prized dish of a Master Chef who has expertly blended her various ingredients into a seamless, elevated experience. Light gold in color with a caressing texture, a full range of orchard fruits mix with citrus blossom to create a very friendly wine to sip on its own or with a range of food, including spicy Asian cuisine.
