For over 100 years, the Emilio Moro family has specialized in bold reds from the tempranillo grape grown in their estate vineyards in northern Spain’s warm region of Ribera del Duero. Seeking to also produce outstanding white wine, the third generation purchased vineyards in Bierzo in northwest Spain, near the Portuguese border, featuring the native varietal of godello. This example named ‘Polvorete’ is tank-fermented yielding a medium-bodied white with a pale gold hue, fresh and easy to enjoy with well-balanced notes of white flowers, green apple, pear and lemon zest. James Suckling, 91 points. (Gary)
