A family wine business founded in 1904 by Italian immigrants, four generations later Don Sebastiani and Sons is a hugely successful company. Their Aquinas Cabernet hails from the Pauli Ranch in Mendocino county along with other sources in Napa, Lake County and the Anderson Valley. The wine tastes lightly of ruby port and cherry pie, eucalyptus and ripe red raspberry with a dry, dusty finish. This would be a terrific Christmas red for larger gatherings, but also a great friend to this winter’s pot roasts or chicken tacos with red beans. (Jenny)
