Amid gorgeous landscapes of granite mountains and rolling vineyards, the Nestore Bosco winery continues to be farmed by the proud fifth generation of Giovanni Bosco's family in central Italy's Abruzzo region. The winery was founded in 1897 and in 1968 their Montepulciano d'Abruzzo was the first ever from that newly christened DOC to be imported to the United States. Their land is seated between the Maiella range and the Gran Sasso hills within the recently designated global Geopark by Unesco.
Their pecorino develops a tart and zesty mouthfeel over nicely unobtrusive tropical fruit notes with luscious hints of pear and quince. It is an intriguing white and perfect with goat cheese, leftover roasted turkey and stuffing, or truite meunière. (Jenny)
