Italy’s Collio district along the Slovenian border northeast of Venice is a premier spot showcasing some of the best white wines in the country. It is here that the Livon family established their winery in the 1960’s. This particular bottling is 100% pinot grigio hand-harvested from a single vineyard named Braide Grande. Interestingly, about a third of the fruit is fermented and aged in French oak, adding depth and spice to the wine. Pair this exceptional grigio with grilled fish, risotto or sushi. (Gary)
