Guerrieri, in the remote and mountainous Marche region of central Italy, cultivates acres of ripe wheat, groves of ancient olive trees, honey, and 48 hectares of prime vineyards on limestone soils on the eastern bank of the Metauro River. They are true farmers and the rugged landscape has shaped their craft for generations. Ten months in French oak barrels gives this red blend of sangiovese, montepulciano, and cabernet sauvignon an elegant complexity with persistent structure, a deep ruby red hue, and a perfumed nose of violets, black cherry, mint, spices, bitter chocolate, and bourbon vanilla.
