The Rosso family is another multi-generational producer, having farmed their vineyards in the hills of Piedmont since the 1890’s. Davide Rosso has been at the winemaking helm since 2001 and further invigorated the quality effort to produce the best wine possible from their plots on the slopes around Serralunga d’Alba. Wines classified as Langhe Nebbiolo are always a great starting point to discover the revered grape, nebbiolo, best known for the more expensive, world-class wines of Barbaresco and Barolo. This example from the Rosso family’s 2021 harvest simply sings with its classic aromatics of violet, rose and red cherry and its polished palate of cherry, raspberry and red tea. (Gary)
