The Famille Dubard crafts deliciously authentic white wines in the heart of the Dordogne region outside of Bordeaux, near the small city of Bergerac. This area remains famous for the paleolithic cave paintings found in many of the underground limestone caverns, the most celebrated of which is, of course, Lascaux. These limestone soils happen to also enrich the wines and are particularly favorable for whites such as this Marie Dubard sauvignon blanc. Supple, velvety, and generous with lush flavors of hawthorne, pineapple, and mandarin orange, this wine will stand up to rich poultry and heady cheeses. (Jenny)
