For those who love a crisply mineral albarino from northern Spain, the certified organic Raimat delivers the goods. Unusually located in Catalonia, south of the Pyrenées, rather than in the Rias Baixas region of Spain, this white is influenced by the dry, arid climate of northeastern Spain, rather than the milder, rainier western coast. This white displays subtle flavors of dried flowers, grapefruit zest, quince, bitter melon, gardenia, and anjou pear. The traditional food pairing would be a cold seafood platter, however a fish chowder, lobster bisque, or quiche lorraine would work just as well. (Jenny)
